Welcome to the School of Accounting at the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of Namibia.
The vision of the School of Accounting (SOA) is to be the regional provider of choice for professional accounting education.
The national statistics indicated that in 2016, Namibia had a total of 511 chartered accountants giving a ratio of 1 chartered accountant for every 4 800 persons in the country. This therefore indicates that the need for chartered accountants in the country is acute. Hence, the School is formed to respond proactively to accountancy transformation and the development of employable professionals.
The school is a home to 3000 students from near and afar and through the National Accounting Talent Search (NATS) initiative the learners in remote areas have come to learn about and appreciate accounting as a career of choice and the School of Accounting is delighted to deliver quality education and an opportunity to these students to qualify as Chartered Accountants.
The School of Accounting continues to strive for academic excellence, cultivate a forward-thinking environment and encourage students to think about the social and economic welfare of the community while emphasizing ethical behavior. Upon graduation, our students are expected to be respectable corporate citizens who bring common good to the global business environment.
